It's My Birthday

Olive Garden Pasta Pass by Andi Lutz It's My Birthday It was my birthday and my girlfriends took me out to a fancy dinner. I got dressed up, I even put on nice shoes, they had a heel and everything. I was hoping to go to you know where, but it didn’t happen. Instead they took me to some over-priced place with food on the menu which I had no idea what it was. There was absolutely no pasta in the restaurant, I asked, the waiter looked at me like I was crazy. So, no they absolutely did not have never ending pasta. Oh, well. I was going to try to make the best of it, I was with my friends, after all. We drank wine and chatted. And gossiped. When my food came it looked like a teeny, tiny piece of art, as if it wasn’t meant to be consumed. Every little sprig, sauce, or shaving was painstakingly placed at just the right angle on my plate. I couldn’t bring myself to eat it, anyway if I did, I’d still be hungry. How can they call this a meal, it’s like they put it through a shrink...

Two Peas chapter 5

Two Peas by Andi Lutz Chapter 5 I didn’t bother trying to watch a movie I wasn’t interested in, instead I got coffee and window-shopped. I found a nice bookstore that had newly opened and looked for anything about wedding planning or finances. I guess I’m always in work mode or fix it mode. It’s so hard to relax, I haven’t done it in such a long time that I don’t remember how to do it. We were able to finally spend the day together, uninterrupted, when Brooks returned. But today I’m really going to relax even if I have to make myself. I’m going to do some gardening and order pizza from the local gas station that delivers. And tonight, I’ve got more time to myself. Brooks was at his house doing some long-neglected home repairs. Once we get married he is going to move into my house so his needs to be ready to sell by next year.

Bathtub of Soup

Olive Garden Pasta Pass by Andi Lutz Bathtub of Soup I did fill the bathtub with soup, not the whole bathtub, I don’t have that much soup. Let me back up and start from the beginning. I have night terrors and I sleep walk. I have done this since I was young. I still do it, some nights I don’t, some nights when my mind is full I am more active in my sleep. When I dream and wake in the middle of the dream I can remember most of it. The night I filled the bathtub I had gone to Olive Garden with my Pasta Pass. I wanted to get soup, but I also wanted salad. I could only choose one, so I got the salad because it’s so delicious and my favorite, I get it every time. Then after I ate my fill of salad I wanted soup, but my pasta came out and it looked so good that I forgot about the soup.

Please Invade My Privacy week 7

Please Invade My Privacy by Andi Lutz Week 7 Well people, I am getting very brave. I decided to do something huge. I started a mommy group that walks every day, in order to get out of the house and get some exercise and also make friends. Let me just, say that this was scary. In my head I’m outgoing and everyone wants to be my friend, I’m the life of the party. But really, when it comes down to it and I am allowed the time to anticipate the whole thing I’m a sweaty, bumbling idiot. But I must try, so let’s walk mommies! I found another mom in the area who agreed to meet me to walk. That’s good since I lost my best friend to a poop emergency a few weeks ago (read Week 2.) The days leading up to our walk were stressful, I bought pepper spray in case it was some crazy person pretending to be a nice innocent mommy. But in the end, it turned out to be a real mom, with kids and well, this is what happened.

Kill Rejection with Positive Motivation

Kill Rejection with Positive Motivation by Andi Lutz Rejection is everywhere. Every time someone unsubscribes from my website I feel it like a punch to my self-confidence. Am I really good enough for this writing thing. Why don’t they want to read what I have to say? Did I write something they didn’t like? But you can’t please everyone. It’s going to happen, you are going to get rejected a lot as a writer. The thing is, you can’t stop just because someone tells you no, or that you need to work on so and so, or you aren’t good enough. You need to keep going, you need to write more to get to the place you want to be. You need more positive motivation and not to dwell on the negative.

The Missing Pass

The Missing Pass by Andi Lutz If you’ve ever had a Pasta Pass you would know that they come in a fancy little box and it makes you feel like you are opening a present. I couldn’t bring myself to throw them away, so I kept our cards in the boxes displayed on the counter and we counted down the days until we could use them. We decided the first day it is valid we would go to dinner as a family. That morning I get up early to make breakfast for us. I bounce into the kitchen and see pieces of one of the boxes chewed up and scattered all over the kitchen floor. I go into the living room and look at the dogs. I know exactly who did it, he looks guilty and clearly, he knows he is in trouble. But if I could have eaten the box and the card I would have too. I don’t blame him, it’s like he could smell the pasta coming from the Pasta Pass.

Please Invade My Privacy week 6

Please Invade My Privacy by Andi Lutz Week 6 Today in an effort to be healthier and get out of the house and get some time to myself I went to the park and took a walk. There were a few people around, so I thought it would be a good time to corner someone and make them feel uncomfortable, because I am getting really good at doing that. I see an older gentleman and up until now I have stayed away from talking to men because I didn’t want it taken the wrong way and have them think I am hitting on them. But this guy looks like he is doing something fun that I could start a conversation about. His back is to me, but I can see that he has a book in his hand and binoculars, looking at some birds in the distance.
