Quiet Please

I need alone time more than I need anything else in life right now, or so I thought I have a husband, a daughter that is almost three and is just starting to get good at the terrible twos thing, four big dogs, three cats, one of which thinks he’s a dog and weighs about the size of a small dog. He even eats the dog food, wants to be outside with the other stinky mutts, and challenges them at times and wins. The dogs back down; maybe it’s because he has claws or they think he is one mean alpha pup. Everyone wants to be around me at all times I never get a moment to my self; there is always some warm body trying to snuggle up to me or wanting to be fed. Between being a stay at home mom and the only housekeeper (which I’ve given up on because I clean and turn around and there's a new mess,) I get no me time. In a house full of animals who don’t pick up after themselves I’m no match, I would constantly be cleaning every second of my life. I'm surrounded by dog farts and...

How would you describe yourself?

In ten words or less This question created a challenge. I don't like to think about myself much in a judging way. I try not to. I could take the easy way out and say I have brown hair and blue eyes, I am emotional and caring. However, I'm not going to do that. Really describing myself made me dig deep. At first, I thought I am a person who will help anyone who is in need, except that's not true.

Simple and clutter free

Simple and clutter free by Andi Lutz The clutter, it’s everywhere. Every surface is covered with junk that should be thrown away or recycled, organized or donated. But I just want to get rid of it all. I want a simple life with only the things I need. I don’t want to have to dig through a closet of coats that haven’t been worn in decades in order to find the one and only jacket I do wear. The clutter is littering my world and giving me anxiety.

Failing to try

Failing to try by Andi Lutz When I was younger, about half the age I am now, I felt alone and unsure, unsure what to do with my life and with the confusion that everyone must feel as teenager. Today I still feel that way. And I wonder, does it ever go away, or does it stick with everyone to make sure that we are always evolving, trying to improve. Always questioning is this right, what I am doing, is there something more, and if so what is it? How do I find it?

I love the library but it gives me anxiety

I love the library but it gives me anxiety by Andi Lutz I would say my favorite place is probably the library. Books give me great joy, just being around them feels good. I could sit in the library pulling books off the shelf and thumbing through them all day. Oh, this book looks

Fancy Drink, Fancy Drink

Fancy Drink, Fancy Drink by Andi Lutz This morning I decided to go through the Starbucks' drive-thru, but only if there was no one in line. Surprisingly enough, there was no one there. But, while I sat at the light for 3 minutes, then went through the maze of two round abouts in order to get less than a quarter mile, they were busy again. The only reason I decided to go was because I have 17 cents on a gift card that I've had for over a year and I had extra time before I was late for work. I order my cheap and plain coffee, small decaf, one cream, 3 sugars. I refuse to say tall because it is not tall and of course the price went up since I was there last. So I dig out the right amount of change, paying in all change, and 17 cents on the gift card. When I pulled up the man says, the lady in front of you paid for yours. I've always heard of this happening but it's never happened to me. I thought that was nice, but I'm not paying for the person behind me which has pro...

Why I won't lower my standards

Why I won't lower my standards by Andi Lutz I think I am pickier than most people. What I don't like: A waiter that only refills my drink when I ask -if my drink is empty you should whisk my glass away to Soda Pop Land and grant it's wish to at
